Plans have been lodged for nearly 400 new houses in Stevenston.

Persimmon homes submitted the application to North Ayrshire Council last week and if given the green light, will build 389 new homes at the site at Mayfield Farm, to the north of Tesco.

The proposal is for 389 flatted, terraced, semi-detached and detached private homes on a 14 hectare site and also includes new accesses and open space.

Doug Law, managing director at Persimmon Homes West Scotland, said: “Persimmon Homes is delighted to invest in the Three Towns once again.

“We have a proven track record for successfully building and selling new homes in the local area.

“Our Clyde Shores development at Sharphill will launch in August 2019 offering a range of affordable two to four-bedroom homes.

“The principle of our Mayfield Farm development has just been supported by the Scottish Government and we are working with the council to ensure we provide a mix of homes that meet local demand.”
