POLICE are on the hunt after a number of cars were targeted by vandals at Ardrossan Accies Rugby Club over the past two weekends.

Now witnesses are being sought after the incidents, leaving damage to cars left overnight at the club on Sorbie Road.

Officers confirmed that they are looking in to two incidents and that enquiries are continuing to trace those responsible.

And the president of the club has hit out saying that he hopes justice is served as soon as possible.

Peter Gossman, president, said: “We are appalled that cars were vandalised in the club car park and we hope this is an isolated incident.

“We hope that those responsible will be identified and prosecuted as soon as possible.”

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “At 4am on Monday, July 29, police received reports of damage to vehicles in a car park situated off Sobie Road, Ardrossan.

“At 3.47am on Monday, August 5, police received a report of damage to a vehicle in that same car park.

“Enquiries continue to trace the perpetrator(s)

“Police are appealing for witnesses and ask that anyone with information please contact 101 quoting incident numbers 0509 of July 29 and 0403 of August 5.”
