A MAN has been charged after an Ardrossan man was stabbed in Salcoats.
Police confirmed that they had arrested a 47-year-old man on Sunday, August 18 following the alleged stabbing on Friday morning.
The incident took place on Glebe Street with the victim rushed to Crosshouse Hospital were he was treated for injuries.
His condition on Friday was described as being serious but stable.
The arrested man was held in custody to appear at court.
A spokesperson for North Ayrshire Police told the Herald: "Police can confirm that on Sunday, August 18 a 47-year-old Saltcoats man was arrested and charged after a 43-year-old Ardrossan man was stabbed on Glebe Street, Saltcoats on Friday, August 16.
"The victim was conveyed by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The arrested man was held custody for court."
