The Three Towns Men’s Shed is holding an open day.

The free event is at the premises in the Focus Centre in Saltcoats on Saturday, August 24 from 11am-3pm.

Shed secretary, Donald McLarty, said: “Come and see the new, enlarged facilities where the possibility now exists to take part in some new activities. Music on the day will be presented by 3FM.

“There will be tours of the shed, exhibits of some of our products, a bargain basement sale of some tools and other items which have been donated to help us raise funds.

"There will be activities for children with the possibilities including face painting, giant Scalextric racing and other items still to be revealed. Short video clips will be shown at intervals throughout the day including some demos of various crafts and, the video of ‘The Men’s Shed Rap’ performed by the Dunoon Men’s Shedders. Chef Charlie will be in charge of the catering and refreshments so no one need go hungry.”
