A CUMNOCK motorcyclist is believed to have died in a tragic road collision.
Two motorcyclists, one understood to be from Cumnock, were killed when a westbound blue Yamaha and a black Yamaha travelling east, collided on the A73 near Lanark.
Both motorcyclists, 62 and 60 years respectively, sadly died at the scene.
Police Scotland said: “Unfortunately, despite the efforts of members of the public who stopped and the paramedics who attended, both men died at the site of the crash.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Local motorcycle group, the Hillbillies MCC, paid tribute online saying:
"Word is one of the lads involved is from Cumnock.
"Thoughts with the family at this time."
They also asked Cumnock bikers to check in to stop any worries.
