A KILWINNING schoolboy is continuing to defy the odds in his battle against five brain tumours.
Kieran Crichton has been fighting for his life after being diagnosed with a rare form of Medulloblastoma in March last year.
Following the devastating diagnosis Kieran underwent surgery to have the biggest tumour removed.
However the surgery left the 14-year-old unable to walk, speak or swallow after having the tumour cut out.
Despite his challenges, the amazing teenager has amazed medics with his spirit and determination.
Following nine months of gruelling chemotherapy and radiotherapy Kieran and mum Senga were given the best news they could hope for - that the tumours had gone.
This week, as Kieran and his family mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, they were given more great news that his most recent MRI scan was clear and the cancer had not returned.
Mum Senga, 50, said: βItβs such a relief. Kieran was a happy boy getting the clear MRI scan. He is just amazing after all he has been through. He really is a wee warrior.β
Kilwinning Academy pupil, Kieran is now undergoing physiotherapy sessions in a bid to get back on his feet after the brain surgery left him unable to walk.
But thanks to his determination, he is now back at school with his pals.
