ECO warriors from groups across the South Ayrshire community came together for a special event.

A showcase was organised by Eco Ayrshire in Troon Scout Hall.

It featured a host of groups, including Friends of Fullarton, Troon Allotment Society, Belleisle Rangers, Barrmill Conservation Group, Scottish Wildlife Trust and their children’s group- Leapfrog along with Irvine Clean Up Crew all got involved, some businesses promoted positive health and wellbeing like Steps Podiatry and Essential Movements Physiotherap, ensuring people were in tip-top condition for activities on offer throughout August.

Other organisations and charities included: Ayr Active Travel Hub, Ayrshire Coastal Path, South Ayrshire Paths Initiative, Marine Conservation Society, Freda’s Walks, Gillian’s Walks, Life in Loans, Opportunities in Retirement, Troon the Cycle Friendly Toon, Octopus Energy, Barassie Sea Swimmers, Home Energy Scotland, Woodland Trust, Little Acorns and SRUC (Ayr Campus) and the international development organisation Tearfund.

Vendors included Lush, Society Zero, UBamboo, TCS- Eco, Thistledownseed, ReMade in Carrick and Re-Wrap It Less Waste Laura and Tearfund were in attendance, encouraging people to take steps towards a zero-waste lifestyle.

The Bike Post offered expertise to ensure bikes were in tip-top condition to allow people to cycle rather than use a car.
