The announcement by North Ayrshire Council of plans to build a new school and community campus in Ardrossan was a hit on twitter as it was the eighth most engaged tweet made by a UK government twitter account that day.
As informed by @UKGovTweets, a twitter handle managed by Measured Voice who measure social media messages, the announcement of the new school deal reached a potential 31,758 people, with 37 favourites and 12 retweets throughout Monday September 9, the day the tweet was made.
According to the website only one other tweet made from within Scotland topped North Ayrshire’s, Aberdeenshire Council’s tweet recording First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s visit to Peterhead Academy High School with Deputy First Minister John Swinney.
