A HUGE congratulations go to a West Kilbride padel pairing who are basking in major glory.
David McCulloch and John Byrne triumphed in the over-45s Scottish Open at the Thistle Padel Club in Edinburgh.
Both players are David and John are members of the West of Scotland Padel Club which is based in Stevenston.
John is the top coach at the club who have attracted players from all across the North Ayrshire community.
Meanwhile, there was a great turn out for the first of the West of Scotland Padel Club open nights last Wednesday.
The next open night is tonight (Wednesday) from 7-9pm at Unit 10, Stevenston Industrial Estate.
Non-members and guests can play for free.
Similar to tennis the popular sport in Spain uses swingball style racquets, and the tennis ball can bounce off the toughened glass on the back wall, keeping rallies going for longer.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, Celtic’s legendary striker Henrik Larsson, and former Man United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all big fans of the fast moving racquet sport.
Zlatan has even opened his own padel centre in Sweden.
