DOORS OPEN DAYS
Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society again participated in the recent Doors Open Days when the Castle and church ruins were open to the public. Over a hundred people were given guided by members of the Society. We welcomed visitors from Canada, the Czech Republic, England, France, Poland, Spain and the United States as well as elsewhere in Ayrshire and Scotland.
BBC SCOTLAND IN TOWN
BBC Scotland recently recorded a pilot programme about Scottish towns by visiting Ardrossan.
Members of the Heritage Society were involved at the Castle and church and the Heritage Centre in Saltcoats where the Ardrossan Sarcophagus is on display.
The programme, which will be presented by Ian Hamilton, should be broadcast later this year.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Society’s annual general meeting takes place on Tuesday 5 November at 7pm at Ardrossan Indoor Bowling Club.
Non-members are welcome to attend to hear about our activities and plans.
