A NEW Three Towns youth football team are celebrating sponsorship deals from local businesses.

Tass Thistle AFC have received sponsorship from The Cafe @ The station in Saltcoats, Dalriada Scaffolding Ltd and Jewsons, who have given the most.

Macron are their kit suppliers.

The team have a good mix of players with junior experience, premier amateur and some great young players so were expecting to kick on as the season goes on. They were established in June, although preparations started last October.

While never a Tass BC team, they were formed with the intention of being a club for the young players from Tass to step up to once they are ready although they’re still a year or two away from Tass youth players coming through to the team directly.

Allan McMillan is manager, Gary Stevely Club Secretary and Daniel Willis assistant boss.

All of their players have featured either for or against Tass at youth level, many of them former Tass players.

They have 21 signed players, with players coming from Ardeer Thistle, Ardrossan Castle Rovers, other local junior/amateur teams.

Young goalie Samuel Wynn has great potential and, young Matthew Watterson (19) who played at youth level with Rangers is a fast-improving player.
