PARENTS have been warned to be on their guard after reports of a 'suspicious' taxi outside a Saltcoats primary school.
St Anthony's Primary issued a warning to parents regarding a white taxi which was seen "behaving suspiciously" in the area in the last few days.
The school warning said: "Dear parents and carers we have had a report that a white taxi is behaving suspiciously in the Ardrossan/Saltcoats area. Police are involved. We ask you to be vigilant and remind your children of arrangements going to and from school. We have spoken to children about staying safe. Staff, as always, will remain vigilant at all times."
Police confirmed they are looking in to the report.
A spokeswoman said: "Police are aware of a car reportedly acting suspiciously in the area."
If you have any information contact police on 101.
