A FURIOUS resident has hit out over changes Stagecoach is making to North Ayrshire services.
Patrick Scott has accused the bus giant of ‘putting profits before customers’ after they announced ‘improvements’ would be made to Glasgow routes.
He fears the adjustments which will see the number 12 operating every 40 minutes instead of 30 minutes will make the community ‘inaccessible’.
But Stagecoach insist the arrangements will improve the ‘punctuality and reliability of the service’.
Patrick said: “They are saying nothing will be decided until December first but we know from reading between the lines they are going to just make whatever changes they want.
“It means the bus I get in the morning and night I won’t be able to get anymore and I will be wasting 120 minutes a day.
“Their idea of improvement is just to cut back but this is a social isolation problem."
A spokesperson for Stagecoach said: “Stagecoach West Scotland are making some changes to North Ayrshire, Garnock Valley to Glasgow services to improve overall customer experience.
“During September, we actively engaged with the public via consultations.
“We have recognised that we must make changes to service 12 to improve punctuality and reliability of the service, to ensure this we have moved from a 30 minute frequency to a 40 minute frequency during off peak.
“Currently the service is operating every 40 minutes during the peak time.”
