Young female footballers in Beith received a welcome boost of more than £1,000 from the local Co-op.
Beith Co-op raised £1,100 for Beith Juniors Girls Football Club which will help the youngsters buy new kits.
Representatives from the retail company presented the team with a cheque at a presentation last Thursday (October 3).
Heather Young, team manager at Co-op, said: “The girls from the football team came into the store to bag-pack, the Co-op head office donated £250 and Co-op Funeralcare donated £200, bringing the total to £1,100.”
Following the cheque presentation, a spokesperson for Beith Juniors Girls FC said: “Today the girls were presented with a cheque from Beith Co-op. This was money raised by bag packing as well as a donation from Funeral Care.
“On behalf of everyone I would like to thank all staff at Beith Co-op, Beith Funeralcare and everyone who donated. This money will now buy the girls training kits and jackets. Thank you everyone.”
