A CHILDREN’S group helped their community centre support Challenge Poverty Week.

Ardrossan Whitlees Community Centre’s Wacky Youth Club were learning about poverty recently as part of the national event between October 7 and 13.

The kids were so moved by what they learned about poverty that they wanted to help out.

They decided to donate their £1 group fee to the foodbank to help families in need.

Last week saw the Wacky Youth Club go shopping in Asda Ardrossan for items to donate to the foodbank.

The Whitlees Centre also set out a basket in their café for anyone wishing to drop-in donated items.

Organised by The Poverty Alliance, Challenge Poverty Week is an opportunity for members of the public to raise their voice against poverty and show what needs to be done to tackle it across Scotland.

Well done Wacky Youth Group.
