PEOPLE are being urged to turn out in big numbers for a floodlit football clash on Friday night.
Ardrossan Winton Rovers, tipped by some as promotion contenders, will host Lesmahagow in a West of Scotland Cup tie, ko 7.30pm, which is the only junior game that night. Chairman Pat Breen is hopeful the event will be well supported.
He said: “We have six floodlights at the ground, improvement work is being done on of them and it should be ready for the match.”
Added the chairman: “Lesmahagow approached us asking if the game could be on Friday, so hopefully people will turn out in good numbers, even some who don’t always go. We’ve had a couple of Friday floodlight games against Ardeer and Maryhill which have been popular so hopefully this one will be too.”
