A West Kilbride youngster is enjoying incredible success in the piping world, despite only taking up the chanter last year.
Cameron Smith recently won the Under 14 Chanter section at the Festival of Juvenile Solo Piping Competition. And the 12-year-old, a first-year pupil at Largs Academy, also won the Gaelic Air Chanter competition.
Gerard McClumpha, group leader at Caledonian Piping Club, said: “Cameron joined the club just over a year ago, as a complete beginner and has made amazing progress.
“Understandably, we, and his family, are really proud of his achievements in such a short space of time.”
