Construction work is set to get underway on a state-of-the-art sheltered housing complex in Irvine.

Demolition of the former Dalrymple Court complex was completed last month ahead of a £5.55million redevelopment.

Work will now begin shortly on the construction of 33 new homes for older residents at the site.

Residents are being given the opportunity to ‘Meet the Builder’ on Thursday, November 7, at Vineburgh Community Centre, Quarry Road, Irvine.

Residents can drop in between 4pm and 6pm where they can see the plans and ask questions.

The new complex will provide 24 one and two bedroom sheltered homes and nine bungalows, suitable for wheelchair users as well as a visiting services room and scooter store.

The development is expected to be complete in early 2021 and is the latest redevelopment of sheltered housing complexes across North Ayrshire.
