A STEVENSTON woman has been recognised as a “woman of the future” with a prestigious award.
Marianne Lillian Breen-Hart, who attended Auchenharvie Academy, won the Technology and Digital Award at the Women of the Future Awards annual ceremony.
Ms Breen-Hart said: “It was a huge honour to just be nominated in the Technology and Digital award.
“I was thrilled to be named the winner in this category, something I did not expect with so many phenomenal women also recognised.
“These awards are so valuable for helping the industry connect and collaborate, with some amazing leaders who choose to build each other up, share success and achieve great things.
“Thank you for the recognition and the platform it is really appreciated and I hope it encourages other women to take up a career in technology.”
Judges commended Ms Breen-Hart for “vision of the future” and said she is a true role model for women in tech and supporter of STEM initiatives.
Ms Breen-Hart is an associate director with Accenture, a Fortune Global 500 company providing services in strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations.
She leads on public service in Scotland, as well as the growth strategy for an emerging technology area of the UK business.
The awards recognise talented women across industries including science and business.
The ceremony in London was attended by former prime minister Theresa May and mayor of London Sadiq Khan. Pinky Lilani, founder and chair of Women of the Future Programme, said: “These talented women are inspiring with their leadership and making a tangible difference across a vast range of professions and industries.”
