A 20-year-old woman has been charged with dangerous driving after a child was injured in a crash during the town's Christmas light switch on.
The woman will face the dangerous driving charge over alleged responsibility after the 11-year-old girl was struck just before 7pm in Lauchlan Way on Thursday, November 21.
As previously reported, she was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where her condition was described as stable.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm a 20-year-old woman has been cautioned and charged for the offence of dangerous driving after an incident on Laughlan Way, Kilwinning on the evening of Thursday, November 21.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
