AN AYRSHIRE author released his latest book to give us a look into the area’s past.
Donald L Reid launched Garnock Valley Tales last week, which details the history of the area compiled a selection of newspaper articles.
Donald L Reid, who serves as councillor for Kilbirnie and Beith, says he’s delighted with the support so far.
He said: “This is my 22nd book believe it or not. I go through the old newspapers and any bits that I see that are interesting I put them by and build it up for book form.
“It’s been going really well and delighted with the support. The book has already paid for itself and so far raised £4,000 already for the Garnock Valley Disability Forum. They’re a smashing group they really are. Every book I’ve done has been to benefit a group or organisation.”
