AN INSPIRATIONAL schoolboy will see his Christmas wish come true when he is whisked off to Lapland this week to meet Santa.

Kieran Crighton will fly from Prestwick Airport to Father Christmas’ home town on Saturday, December 14 after being picked to go on the magical trip by the When You Wish Upon a Star charity.

Kieran, 14, has been fighting for his life over the last year after being diagnosed with a rare form of Medulloblastoma in March 2018.

Following the devastating diagnosis Kieran underwent surgery to have the biggest tumour removed.

However the surgery left the Kilwinning Academy pupil unable to walk, speak or swallow after having the tumour cut out.

Despite his challenges, the amazing teenager has amazed medics with his spirit and determination and Kieran has obviously impressed charity bosses who chose him to go on the once-in-a-lifetime trip.

But mum Senga, 50, said due to a recent surgery the teenager almost has his dream crushed.

She said: “We didn’t think Kieran was going to be able to go because he had just had surgery on his leg to straighten it. But the doctors said he could go in the end so it’s been a bit of a mad dash trying to get his passport ready and get everything sorted.

“He is so excited to be going. it’s going to be fantastic. We can’t wait.”

While he is there Kieran and the other children will experience the deep snowy forest, Husky rides, sledging, snowmobiling and reindeer riding as well as toasting marshmallows around the open campfires.

The amazing day trip will end with a spectacular firework display before the children are whisked off to meet with Father Christmas and his Elves.

This amazing day for the children and their parent is a once in a lifetime trip which creates such magical precious memories and is organised by www.whenyouwishuponastar.org.uk
