Kilbirnie’s most amazing Christmas home is back even brighter than before.

Jamie Renton has covered his house in spectacular festive lights to spread seasonal cheer.

This is the father-of-four’s third year of lighting up his street and he says it’s even bigger than last year.

Jamie said: “ We’ve added quite a lot, we had a lady in Kilwinning couldn’t do it anymore, she gave us quite a lot. We’ve hardly had to buy any.

“We’ve actually made some ourselves.

“We had an old Christmas tree frame, and which we didn’t have anything to use it for, so we got a circle base and made six foot LED Christmas trees.”

Jamie, his wife Kayleigh, and four kids, Kieron, 11, Holly, 10, Rosie, 5, and Ruby, 3, had a switch-on ceremony on Sunday, December 1.

Jamie, who fits all the lights himself, said the event attracted a crowd of 50 and he’s had messages from as far as the Borders asking for his address.

He told the Herald: “It’s nice to have people enjoy them.

“It’s for the kids, our four kids and the kids of the town.

“There’s a lady in the street who dresses her house up for Hallowe’en and we do Christmas.

“It spreads the Christmas cheer.”

Fortunately the big commitment doesn’t cost as much as it would in the past because most of the decorations use eco-friendly LED lights.

Jamie’s lights are on from 5pm until 10pm every night at 17 Castle Drive, Kilbirnie.
