Police are investigating following a reported theft from a nurse’s car.

She was reportedly doing her rounds in Kilbirnie, visiting patients in their homes, when she left her vehicle parked on Pundeavon Avenue.

A local resident told the Herald that the nurse’s car windows were smashed in and items stolen at around 9.30am on Saturday, December 14.

A relative of patient, who wished to remain anonymous for fear they may be targeted by the thief, said the despicable incident meant the nurse was unable to continue her work meaning elderly and vulnerable people were impacted by the thoughtless crime.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police are investigating the theft from a motor vehicle that was parked on Pundeavon Avenue, Kilbirnie at 9.30am on Saturday, December 14.

“At this time personal belongings were taken, including a handbag and purse.”
