A man was taken to hospital after being pulled out of the sea at Ardrossan.
Police say the 57-year-old was rescued by fishermen at around 1pm on Saturday near the harbour.
The man was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
A spokesperson said: "Police were made aware of a 57-year-old man who had been in the water at Ardrossan around 1pm on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
"Local fishermen came to his rescue and he was taken to hospital by ambulance to be checked over."
