Buses will replace trains every Sunday for the next six weeks between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning.

The disruption is due to track renewals taking place.

Services going to and from Glasgow Central and Ardrossan, Ayr or Largs will be affected.

Instead, buses will replace the trains for all or part of the journey.

Scotrail said: "Replacement bus provision is limited and customers will be required to queue.

"Journey times will be increased and replacement buses may arrive/depart earlier or later than advertised train times.

"Passengers are required to have a valid train ticket to travel on rail replacement buses."

The service alterations will take place from 5am til 11.59pm each Sunday from January 5 til February 9.

This means disruption on January 5, 12, 19 and 26, and February 2 and 9.

Direct buses will operate from Glasgow Central to Ardrossan Harbour to connect with ferry sailings.
