NORTH Ayrshire Predators took on Solway Sharks JIHC at Dumfries Ice Bowl.

Any worries that the first game back after the Christmas break would slow them down were dismissed with a lovely shot from Kyle Forsyth after only three minutes. Josh Carslaw scored twice within 40 seconds just after nine minutes but Solway scored next. The Predators were then handed a penalty and Jack Neil took the puck a wander and found the back of the net. Youngster Flynn Massie then scored his first goal for the Predators. Next up Dylan Murray slotted his first with such skill and ease, this prompting Flynn to follow his lead and press forward to score his second. Harry Campbell gave way to Calum Simmonds in nets. The final period started as the last had ended with Predators out-shooting Solway with more goals from Jack and Kyle before Solway scored. D-Man Kerr Drummond pulled off his trademark blue line slap shot to score his first this season. Jack had a lovely breakaway goal 18 seconds later, then Dylan had a trail of Solway players chasing him down before scoring his second 44 seconds later. With such an advantage for the Predators, Jacob Woods slotted home his first Predators goal. This was followed by another from Kyle and Dylan before Antony Curlett netted, making it 16- 2. Man of the Match: Liam Houston.
