A BIG HEARTED travel agent will battle the Sahara Desert to Support Ayrshire Hospice.

Heather Kerr from LAH Travel in West Kilbride, is swapping her flip flops for hiking boots this year to take part in the eight-day challenge across Morocco.

Her voyage will take place this October as she completes the exhilarating trek along the dried-out riverbeds of the Sahara, from oasis to oasis.

Local businesses and members of the public have been supporting Heather by donating prizes for a fundraising night which will take place Saturday, February 1, at the Volunteer Rooms in Irvine from 7.30pm.

Heather said: “‘We have live music from The Candidates and a raffle with some fantastic prizes including free flights, shopping vouchers plus much more.

“Tickets cost only £5 each and are available from LAH Travel, West Kilbride, and Guru Hair and Beauty, Dreghorn.

“After recently experiencing the amazing care and service the Ayrshire Hospice provided for my close friend Kay. It really made me want to help in any way I can.

“I have never done anything like this before so as you can imagine it’s going to be a huge test.

“My goal is to raise £3,000.”

By supporting Heather’s Sahara Trek, you are helping the Ayrshire Hospice to provide vital support for patients and their families in your local community.

Any donation, big or small is very much appreciated and will go towards creating precious memories for the people that the Ayrshire Hospice care for.

The Ayrshire Hospice provides outstanding quality care to help those with any life-limiting illness.

Care is provided where there is no cure for the condition, but which improves the quality of each day for people who have a limited time to live.
