ARDROSSAN Winton Rovers FC have signed 13 of the Academy’s 2003 team players on delayed transfer forms.
This enables them to continue to play for the 2003s on a Sunday but also available to manager Stevie Wilson for the first team. At the moment several of the players train with the first team on a Monday night and with two 17 year olds already in the first team squad there is a real opportunity for these players to break into the first team in the near future. The players who signed are: Ross Higgins, Aidyn Sharkey, Curtis Lees, Kieren Gorman, Kyle Samson, Kyle Lindsay, Shaigh Hutton, Ross McCulley, Alex Kirkwood, Jay McCrindle, Andrew Barrington, David Farrell and Robert Baillie. The 2003 team is the oldest in the AWR Football Academy which was formally set up in the summer to organise the youth teams affiliated to the Junior club into an organisation. The Academy is run by all the teams through an Executive Committee which is made up of a representative from each member team plus the Chairman and Vice-Chairman who are from the Junior Club.
