A PAIR of teenage Beith brothers delivered winning performances at a sports event in Glasgow.
Scott Brindley won the under-20s heptathlon and set a new Scottish record at the 4J Studios Combined Events Champs at the Emirates Arena.
The North Ayrshire Athletics Club (NAAC) athlete’s run follows his success at a championship event in England last month.
In Sheffield, Scott set a new personal best with 5,375 points, but at the competition in Glasgow, on February 1 and 2, he surpassed this with 5,409 to take the gold.
Scott wasn’t the only Brindley to win with his brother Aidan scooping first in the under-17 competition .
The brothers’ dad, Paul, said: “They both work very hard, and I’m glad they’ve done their best.”
“I’m very proud. It’s a lot of hard work and they’ve had knock-backs, and problems but they’ve overcome them.”
