The COUNCIL’S business team launched its new look website and promotional film at an event for local businesses at the Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine last week.

Branded ‘This is North Ayrshire’, the website and promotional film are part of a suite of marketing materials aimed at promoting the area for business and investment.

Over 60 local businesses and partners attended the launch event where guests were welcomed by Councillor Joe Cullinane, Leader of the North Ayrshire Council.

Attendees included Karen Yeomans, Director of Growth and Investment at North Ayrshire Council, who explained ambitious plans to regenerate the economy through the major transformational projects that are part of the Ayrshire Growth Deal.

Dave Tudor, Managing Director of Medicines, Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (MMIC) also discussed digital automation and how local companies must work in partnership to ensure they’re at the forefront of technological advances.

Businesses had the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas on the council’s plans for the coming months and years to ensure North Ayrshire reaches its full economic potential.

Providing the closing remark on the day, Councillor Alex Gallagher, Cabinet Member for Economy, said: “This is a really exciting time for North Ayrshire. With so much happening this really is a time of transformation for us.

“Companies were invited to the event because they work in those critical local industries and businesses that give North Ayrshire its unique and special character. We pride ourselves on the strength of our community, not just for our residents, but for our businesses too.

“We are more than a business location – we’re a business community.”

The new inward investment website is now live and the film can be found on the council’s YouTube channel by searching ‘This is North Ayrshire’.
