A NINETEEN-year-old man appeared at the High Court accused of killing a 13-year-old girl by supplying her with Ecstasy.
Callum Owens, 19, of Arran Place, Irvine, denies the culpable homicide of Grace Handling, from Irvine, by recklessly and unlawfully supplying a lethal drug to her on June 28, 2018
Prosecutors state that Grace ingested the drug to the danger of her health, safety and life and died as a consequence of this and Owens killed her.
He is also accused of being concerned in the supply of Ecstacy from two addresses in Irvine and at Largs train station between June 25 and 29, 2018.
Owens, who is represented by defence QC Donald Findlay, denies both charges against him.
Mr Findlay said: “The matter is ready to proceed to trial.”
Trial was set by judge Lady Stacey for October 5,
Grace passed away at a house in Irvine, Ayrshire, on the day school broke up for the holidays in 2018.
Her dad Stewart, from Irvine, said: “Our lives will never be the same again. We miss Grace so much,
“She was a loving wee girl who cared about everyone. She was very sensitive and the type who was always thinking of others.”
