North Ayrshire Foodbank are looking for compassionate individuals who have a concern relating to other people’s food insecurity.

A major source of food donated to our families, friends and neighbours across North Ayrshire comes from the generosity of the shoppers at the major supermarkets.

Throughout the year the Foodbank is allocated in-store events and they need collection teams to operate those events.

A team will be allocated to a store, leaflets are then handed out and food is donated.

It is then uplifted by the volunteers and taken back to the Foodbank with usually around 20 events a year.

The three biggest events are the Tesco collection events at Christmas time (usually November).

An offer to volunteer does not mean you will be at all of the events. A rota will be created and you can choose which events you can attend based upon your circumstances.

If you would like to know more there will be an open night at the Ardrossan Church of the Nazarene on Friday, March 20 at 7pm. They welcome offers of assistance by email at nafoodbank@btinternet.com or via Facebook.
