A HOUSING firm has made its first pledge to helping Troon Lifeboat Station with a generous donation.

Taylor Wimpey West Region who currently have a development ongoing outside Troon teamed up with the RNLI and promised £25 for each new home sold and legally completed at their Princess Gate and Queens Court site.

The first tranche was donated to the charity in February, and forms part of the overall grand sum of £5,650 which will be paid to the RNLI, with all of it going directly to the Troon Lifeboat Station to help the dedicated volunteers carry out life saving work.

Urda Cotter from the RNLI said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation. This money will be put to work locally to help us

achieve the overall aim of our service to the local community. On behalf of everyone at RNLI, I would like to say a huge thank you.”

Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland said: ”Being able to work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in our local communities.”

This first donation of £1,025 reflects the beginning of a long- term relationship with this very worthy cause that provides a link between the new community that is emerging at Princess Gate and Queens Court, and the existing community of Troon.”
