A KIND gesture by Kilwinning Rangers gave residents in a care home a memorable day out.

The Buffs provided staff at Buckreddan Care Centre in Kilwinning with four season tickets to take some of the residents to a match.

Two residents were able to go and enjoy a game on Saturday, March 8 and were given a warm welcome by members of the club.

The Buffs were happy to provide tickets after they were approached by the Home to see if they could organise a day to watch the football.

Residents were accompanied to the match against Rutherglen to take in the 2-2 draw at Kilwinning Sports Club.

They were greeted by members of the club Brian Jardine and Yasmin, who offered the residents the chance to sit in the comfort and privacy of an office on a cold day.

A message sent Buckreddan to the Buffs reads: “Today my colleague Leanne and I accompanied two residents to the game.

“Both residents thoroughly enjoyed the day out at ‘The Buffs’ match where we were warmly welcomed by everyone we met.

“I would like to give a special mention to Brian Jardine. He very kindly made all the arrangements to get us our season tickets and for that, personally, I cannot thank him enough.”

The message continued, “On behalf of Buckreddan Care Centre, the staff and residents. I would like to thank you and KSC for your very kind support.

“Be assured, your generosity goes a long way to supporting Buckreddan’s ‘person centred’ approach ethos.”

The club shared the thank you message from the care home, highlighting the importance of being ‘kind and positive’.

A spokesperson for the club said: “We are totally delighted that we helped out a few people to have a great day, this had zero impact on the club, all we did was say "Yes".

“We encourage all involved with the club to be kind and positive when opportunities arise, you just don't know what it means to other people.”
