THE SCOTTISH Grand National has been axed due to coronavirus.

Ayr’s premier racing event, which attracts thousands to the town will no longer go ahead.

The British Horseracing Authority have taken swift action in the wake of Covid-19, with all race meets up until the end of April cancelled.

The big meet at Ayr was due to go ahead on the weekend of April 17 (Ladies Day) and 18, the Coral Scottish Grand National.
