The 3rd Ardrossan Rainbows have been busy raising funds for their unit and for the Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA).

The girls completed a sponsored bounce on Wednesday, March 4 raising over £800 in the process.

The Rainbows decided to donate some of the money raised to the DSA by buying “Lots of Socks” to wear on Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day on Saturday, March 21.

Lots of Socks is a product available for purchase from the DSA to support Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day.

The socks, an odd pair with lots of colour, can be purchased for £3.95 a pair and all the money goes to the DSA.

Since their charity bounce, the girls have been much more restricted in their activities.

All girl-guiding units have been suspended due to the recent government guidelines, but the girls were still motivated to wear their socks on the day.

Leader of the 3rd Ardrossan Rainbows, Kerry Elliott said: “I am so proud of our girls.

“Although the girls can’t go to the unit, they are doing plenty of badge work at home and spirits seem to be high.

“We hope everyone stays well and hope everything returns to normal soon.”
