On any normal Friday, Saltcoats Town centre would be a hive of activity with shoppers gearing up for the weekend.

But as coronavirus grips the country and lockdown meausures in place, the streets are eerily empty.

Most shops were seen with the shutters down and there was barely a soul in sight.

The Scottish Governemt are advising that, for the protection of yourself and others, you stay at home and only go outside for essential food, health and work reasons, stay two metres (six feet) away from other people, wash your hands regularly, and wash your hands as soon as you get home.
