A SOUTH Ayrshire primary school passed its annual inspection with flying colours.

Forehill Primary in Ayr earned rave reviews from auditors recently after they visited the school.

In a letter published on Tuesday, March 17, Education Scotland revealed the details of their inspection.

And the results will be pleasing for staff, in particular headteacher Mr Watson, parents and pupils.

The findings were so positive that Marion Carlton,

HM Inspector for Education Scotland, decided that no further visits would be necessary over this

review.

Overall, it was found that the quality of learning, teaching and assessment was very good in both the primary school and the early years centre.

Securing children’s progress was also praised by auditors while

raising attainment and achievement of the kids earned very good status too.

A number of key strengths were identified as contributing factors towards these generalised standings.

They were highlighted as: “Children who are enthusiastic, happy and eager to learn. They are respectful of each other and of adults.

“The highly effective headteacher, together with the leadership team, who successfully lead a team of motivated and enthusiastic staff.

“Together they use assessment information well to pan appropriate learning experiences and support for children across the school and early years centre.

Education Scotland urged the school to continue to improve future creative approaches to learning and teaching across the school and early years centre.
