FITNESS classes are to be brought to homes across South Ayrshire in a bid to keep residents active during lockdown.

The council’s Sport and Leisure Team have partnered with Life Fitness to give people free access to Digital Coach, which provides an array of on-demand home workouts.

The workouts are set to improve physical health and in turn have a positive impact on emotional and mental health, during the coronavirus crisis.

With social distancing measures in place many residents who would normally attend classes across South Ayrshire, can now access health and wellbeing activities from home.

The team have been filming Inivgor8 classes which are set to be shared on a members-only Facebook group.

From Monday, April 6 the Fitness team started live online fitness classes, including Aerobics HIIT and Pilates. The full timetable for this is on Sport & Leisure Facebook page and on the website.

Gymnastics coaches have also been working hard to deliver videos on social media to keep kids entertained.

The fun videos as well as all home activities can be viewed on their Facebook page.
