During these tough times we are all missing our family, friends and want nothing more than for things to return to normal.

One group of people who may be wondering what exactly is going on and why they aren’t allowed out to visit anyone, is our children.

Schools closed, no playdates, no swing parks and no visits with their grandparents.

That’s why we are asking you – the readers of the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald – to send a message on behalf of your kids to their gran, grandad, nana or papa. We’re looking for creative youngsters to compile a message and send us a photograph to feature in the paper next week and the weeks going forward until we are able to see our loved ones again.

All you have to do is send a message (no more than 100 words), who it is from, which town you live in and who they are missing and if you want to, include a photograph to cheer up your grandparents.

There are two ways you can send these, either by emailing editorial@ardrossanherald.co.uk or by sending the details via a private message on Facebook.

We will do our best to include all messages we receive and print them in the Herald but don’t be upset if your message doesn’t make it in straight away, we will get it in as soon as we can.

Anyone wishing to get involved is asked to send their messages in by Friday at 3pm for inclusion in the paper the following Wednesday.

This special service is absolutely free.

Thank you, and stay safe.
