A PERSON was rescued after being trapped within rocks on Ardrossan's North Shore.
Emergency services raced to the scene near the Old Shell site last night after they received a report that someone was in distress.
Two fire appliances were in attendance where firefighters worked to successfully release the trapped individual.
The person was then checked by paramedics as a precuation.
A spokesperon for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “We were alerted at 9.54pm Wednesday, May 6 to reports of a person needing assistance in Ardrossan.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to a coastal area near to Sweeney Street where firefighters released one person that was trapped within rocks.
“The person was given a precautionary check-up by the Scottish Ambulance Service but did not require any hospital treatment.
“Crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
