A UNIQUE team of Co-op workers from across Ayrshire have led the way to help communities during the coronavirus crisis – with 500 masks made for residents.

Utilising their own skills, the talented Member Pioneer colleagues have been helping to protect, inspire and bring joy to residents across North, South and East Ayrshire.

Since coronavirus struck, the members, still working to serve customers in Co-op stores or with Funeralcare, have each thought of their own way to help Ayrshire continue its fight against Covid-19.

More than 500 masks have been made by a sewing team, after mum Laura Newlands who is the Member Pioneer for Dalry and Kilbirnie stores started to produce the in demand face masks.

In Troon, mum Cara Crowe has been filming herself making online tutorial videos to make Co-op food recipes.

Jean Jackson who is the member pioneer for Ayr and Maybole, has been helping with the cause by crocheting face mask adaptors to protect the ears of NHS workers.

In Irvine, the successful Sunshine Through The letterbox campaign was started from Steven Connelly, where people have been writing a nice message or drawing a colourful picture which has then been sent out to care homes.

And over in Cumnock and Mauchline, Gillian Patrick has arranged various toiletry and East Egg donations
