Police Scotland say number of stolen items have been recovered and will be returned to their rightful owners - however several other electrical items and a telescope were also recovered and it is believed these too have been stolen and not reported.

Sgt Neil Campbell of Saltcoats Police Office said: "This has been an excellent result by officers and we are glad to have recovered people's prized possessions. However we would ask that local residents check their properties and vehicles to establish that their personal belongings are still secure within. In the current climate it is possible that the owners of this property don't even know it has been stolen, especially if they have been self-isolating and not using their cars or staying with relatives."

"If you believe any personal electronic items to be missing please contact Saltcoats Police Office on 101 quoting incident #1748 of the 18th of May with a description of the property and any distinguishing marks on it."

"We always recommend that valuables and tools ar removed from vehicles and further advice on securing your belongings can be found at: http://ow.ly/1fB550zKbx6 and please, I would ask that you report anything suspicious to us on 101 (in an emergency always use 999)."
