Drive through coffee is back on the menu as Stevenston's Costa reopens.

The branch is one of 75 of the company's drive-thru lanes to begin serving hot drinks today having closed due to the coronavirus lockdown.

70 stores had already been reopened, and a futher 58 will open on May 28.

Jill McDonald, chief executive of Costa, said stores will operate a different look and feel, with customers queueing two meters apart and just a handful allowed in each branch at a time.

She said: "We have received some great feedback from our store team members and customers have responded well to our new ways of working.

"This has given us the confidence to re-open some more stores."

The chain will only accept contactless payment and you won't be able to use physical Coffee Club cards, although customers can still collect and redeem loyalty points using the app.

The coffee shop also has a limited menu on offer and will not be accepting reusable cups.
