Women IN Cumnock and Mauchline have been sewing cloth face masks for local Co-ops to provide to the local community.
Gillian Patrick, Co-op Member Pioneer for Cumnock and Mauchline, offered to support a colleague in Beith who had began a mask making project in April. She put out a Facebook appeal for volunteers and a team of ladies responded.
Gillian said: “We would like to thank the amazing team of ladies volunteering their sewing skills in the Cumnock and Mauchline area
"I have had a few donations of fabric and elastic which I have been delivering out to the team when I collect the masks they have made.
“We have a little production line going. The ladies have been amazing, I can’t thank them enough. So far we have provided over 300 masks.”
The Co-op would like to say a massive thank you to Evelyn McBride from Mary's Fabric Shop, Shirley Cree, Lynn O'Dwyer, Kate McNaughton, Mary-Beth Pearson, Jane McBlain, Lynne Holmes, Joyce Bell and all others who have contributed.
Masks are available in Co-op Funeralcare Cumnock and Co-op Food Mauchline for a small donation. To donate material, contact gillian.patrick@coopmembers.co.uk
