A second man has appeared in court to face a murder charge after the death of Paul Cairns.
Martin Crawford, 50, appeared in private where he faced two charges against him today [Thursday, May 28].
Ardrossan man Paul Cairns was gunned down in a house in Nithsdale Road on Sunday, May 24 after a man burst into the property with a firearm before making their escape.
Crawford faced a charge of murder and a second accusation of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Crawford, of no fixed address, entered no plea to the charges and was committed for further examination.
He was remanded in custody by the sheriff and will return to court at a later date.
