Car parks across North Ayshire are to remain shut as the lockdown is slowly eased across Scotland.
North Ayrshire Council confirmed it will be keeping its car parks closed for the time being, as the First Minister announced she would begin to ease the lockdown.
Council chiefs closed the majority of car parks back in April to deter out-of-towners who continue to visit some of the area's most popular destinations.
The facilities themselves remain open for residents to walk to and around while practising safe social distancing measures.
North Ayrshire Council said: “Whilst there are some travel restrictions being relaxed slightly, the guidance from Scottish Government, supported by Police Scotland, is that all councils should keep car parks shut, particularly around beauty spots so as not to encourage travel there.
“Therefore the car parks we closed on April 3 will remain closed until the guidance changes. We will continue to keep the position under review and respond as appropriate in line with any emerging guidance.”
