Police have issued an appeal after a 64-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Irvine.
The incident happened outside a flat within East Road car park, across from Aldi, around 1.30pm on Monday, June 1.
The victim asked a woman to move her car, a purple Skoda, which was blocking a driveway, before he was approached by a man who punched him.
The 64-year-old was taken to Crosshouse Hospital with a broken hip.
The only description for the suspect is he appeared to be in his fifties.
Detective Sergeant Peter Sweeney, of Saltcoats CID, said: "We're appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to contact us.
"Similarly anyone who was travelling along East Road around 1.30pm on Monday and has dash cam footage, please contact us."
