A 15-year-old boy has been sexually assaulted at a bus stop in Clydebank.

The young boy was at the terminus at Chalmers Street at around 11.20pm on Monday, June 1 when he was approached by a man.

The man began talking to the boy before going on to sexually assault him.

Although physically unhurt, the victim is said to be shocked.

Police are now searching for the suspect, who the boy saw board a number 60 bus and leave the area after the incident.

He is described as black, 5ft 10 inches in height, and aged in his late 20's.

He is said to have spoken English with a foreign accent.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black baseball cap, a grey spotted t-shirt with white on the shoulder, dark coloured bottoms and an earring within the left ear.

He was also carrying a black backpack with a water bottle within the side compartment which was wrapped within a plastic bag.

"The boy was shocked but physically unhurt by the incident," said detective sergeant Bernadette Wall. "He moved away from the man and watched him get on board a number 60 bus and leave the area. 

"We have been carrying out enquiries to establish the identity of the man and we would appeal to anyone who may know who the man is to get in touch with Police Scotland on 101, quoting 4885 of June 1."
